How it works

Infrared v traditional saunas: infrared Saunas use light to create heat meaning they can heat your body directly , whereas traditional saunas heat the air around you which in turn heats your body. This means infrared saunas are able to penetrate deep into muscle tissue and detoxify from the inside out.

In traditional saunas 95-97% of sweat from users contains water, compared to infrared sauna users; where their sweat contained only 80-85% water. The remaining fluid from infrared saunas is made up of cholesterol, fat soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium ammonia, and uric acid (Adams ,2008).

Bottom line: your body detoxes quicker and more effectively in an infrared sauna.

Himalayan Pink Salt: you can add Himalayan pink salt to any of our saunas for a better all round experience. When heated the Himalayan pink salt in the air undergoes an ionization process which naturally purifies the oxygen. Spending time in this salt therapy environment (also known as halotherapy) reduces stress, eases skin irritations and boosts energy.

Colour Therapy: our saunas have a colour therapy feature. Colour therapy uses the energy of colour to assist the body with its own natural ability to heal, energise and soothe. Each colour frequency affects different energy and emotions in the body.

FAQs

Infrared heat therapy is the process of infrared light penetrating several inches into the body’s deep tissue and creates heat, resulting in a whole-body hyperthermia to make you sweat.

Infrared saunas work by penetrating the deep tissue of muscles to induce detoxification and relaxation from within the body. Traditional saunas heat the air around you to encourage your body to sweat out toxins however usually this just leaves people uncomfortable and struggling to breathe in the stuffy conditions! With an infrared sauna the gentle heat will radiate to the core of your body.

Infrared heat is completely safe! Infrared light is a naturally occurring output of the sun without the harmful UV rays associated with sunlight.

Colour therapy is the use of colours to balance the body’s energy and frequencies. Colour therapy works on balancing the body through the full spectrum of visible light, each colour addressing a different need. Colour therapy sauna benefits include physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing.

Each person responds to heat differently. If you typically sweat in warmer conditions then you can expect to sweat here. We suggest you drink plenty of water and always take in a towel for personal hygiene reasons.

Hemlock wood is light in colour and the heavier weight (compared to red cedar). Hemlock is more resistant to shrinkage, giving it a longer usage life compared to others, as it resists cracking and splitting. Hemlock is non-allergenic, non-toxic, and has little to no wood aroma, making it beneficial to your body and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all users.

Red cedar is lighter in weight than hemlock and extremely strong in its own right. Like hemlock, red cedar is non-toxic, although a small percentage of users may experience an allergic reaction to the natural oils and resins in red cedar. Most people find that the intense natural aroma of Red Cedar adds a little something extra to the sauna experience.
